Great idea, does the City of Calgary have a mechanism for mayoral recall?

I believe what we are seeing in all levels of government is the Peter Principle.

" the principle that members of a hierarchy are promoted until they reach the level at which they are no longer competent."

Seems to me that most of these assholes were elected into a position where they were never competent to begin with...

Just saying.

Great point lol! And most likely the people who voted them in were no more competent.

At this point I think lack of competency would be more aptly described as stupidity.

Racketeering to establish Gangster Cartels.

The most dangerous predators are those that operate under the guise of welfare, offering safety and security while the real agenda is exploitation.

Pimps probably look ‘Liberal’ and ‘Loving’ to their victims.

The masses are being systematically pimped out by a wannabe feudal overclass.

It’s becoming crystal clear now that in any election or leadership position that there needs to be effective and preventative screening to insure potential candidates are not Marxist mind controlled agents of destruction.

This is a clear agenda of dysfunctional societal demolition by infection and infiltration.

We need to kill their union funding and set elections back on an equal level.

The only way to get back into an actual democracy instead of just a perceived.

Local elections are especially determined by a well organized ground game. It’s surprising how well placed strategic voting can make a huge difference.

As I read this I invision that now defunct mayor of Chicago. The damage done there appears very similar.

And on another note, not being in Cowtown; trying to leave a message on said mayors gatekeeper message board was utterly futile. MP, MLA, Justice Minister and Premier office all notified, with honey of course, the abysmal failure of Gondek with expectations of a change.

We need to get back to hiring and election practices which promote the most qualified for the position...not because of the screechy minorities who continue to prevail because of their ability to shut down conversations through name-calling.

I knew we were in trouble when Jeff Davison threw his hat into the mayoralty ring taking votes away from Farkas. We have got to stop splitting the vote and learn to coalesce around one strong candidate. My ward got rewarded with woke little Evan Spencer who's only real work experience was being Shane Keating's joe boy and only got the job cause Craig Chandler's big fat ego got in the way of a good Conservative from getting any traction. There was no need for Chandler, Mike LaValley and Stephen Pham to all run in our ward with the same platform. We do this to ourselves.

Even if Farkas got 100% of Davisons votes, he'd have still lost.

Davison - 50,564

Farkas - 116,698

Total = 167,262

Gondek - 176,344

But would this be the same without him?

Hard to say...I hear ya though.

I can't confirm this, but this organization (Calgary's Future) helped fund Gondek's campaign along with a majority of the councillors that won. Funding is murky, but union money and environmental groups seems to be behind it. https://www.calgarysfuture.ca/

It would explain Gondek declaring a climate emergency just after becoming mayor.

What about unilaterally awarding the Greenline LRT engineering work exclusively to SNC Lavalin without considering local bidders? You can thank Gondek for that.

I would sign a recall petition for gondyk and half of our current council!
