Since her first day in office, as newly elected Mayor of Calgary, Jyoti Gondek has been an abysmal failure and complete let-down to Calgarians.
He first actions were to Declare a Climate Emergency, followed by proposing to spend $100k to fight against Bill 21 in Quebec, because a teacher was fired for wearing a hijab → Link
What is amusing about Bill 21 in Quebec, where it forbids face coverings, passed in 2019…was soon followed by MASK MANDATES over the last 3 years.
These people are morons.
But for Gondek to even suggest that Calgary Taxpayer funds being shipped off to fight provincial legislation in Quebec is appalling.
For her to declare a Climate Emergency in Calgary, thinking that our city could be the thermometer of the planet, is lunacy.
For these 2 reasons alone, she should have been recalled…but things have only gotten worse under her rule.
If we look at the state of the LRT (Light Rail Transit) system in Calgary, it’s completely overrun by criminals and drug users…to the point that it barely makes sense to even have public transit in the city.
If we look at crime rates, they are through the roof…and it doesn’t take much to find how peoples lives are not benefited by anything Gondek has done, where she’s completely refused to address the issue to the point that Premier Smith added more boots to the ground in Calgary to deal with issue →Link
Snow Plows, progressively getting worse over the years, have never been as bad…I basically have to push my garbage out into oncoming traffic because of how terrible of a job they’ve done this year.
And while Gondek not only voted to Increase Property Taxes in Calgary, she also attempted to push more of this onto homeowners instead of businesses…at a point where the cost of living and rate of inflation are at the highest in decades.
Oh yeah…and don’t forget about the scathing flyers we get about how to properly sort our garbage…that all ends up going to the same place anyways.
More Money for Less Services!
But what is Gondek focused on?
Not arresting actual criminals in the city…she’s focused on arresting Pastors who are protesting sexuality being promoted in public libraries.
And she’s doing this under the guise of calling it “vile lies and hatred in public”.
It’s not vile lies and it’s not hatred.
It’s common decency and is completely in keeping with the same policies that for entertainment and content that all movie theatres have to follow, all parental limitations on streaming, cable services and internet content.
Demanding that our public institutions not be used as open forums for sexuality to all ages isn’t even in the realm of vile lies or hatred…but yet Gondek wants enforcement teams to start cracking down on protestors of things she supports →Link.
Chris Selley: Calgary mayor's would-be crackdown on free speech should alarm everyone
Mayor Jyoti Gondek has placed herself at the forefront of the 'no more protests that I don’t like' movement
As of November of last year, Gondek’s approval rating was really starting to hit the skids, where →Link:
In the ThinkHQ survey, only 11 per cent of people strongly approve of her performance, while 35 per cent strongly disapprove.
And what did Gondek have to say about this?
“People are incredibly frustrated with public safety,” said the mayor. “They’re frustrated with issues of social equity. And those are big problems to solve that don’t get done within a year.”
I’d bet $10 that if you asked 10 people what “Social Equity” actually was…9 of them couldn’t tell you what it was…and you’d probably have to ask 100 to find one person who believes that this is an issue in Calgary.
Social Equity Definition:
Social equity is impartiality, fairness and justice for all people in social policy. Social equity takes into account systemic inequalities to ensure everyone in a community has access to the same opportunities and outcomes. Equity of all kinds acknowledges that inequalities exist and works to eliminate them.
Because…let’s face it…the type of social equity that Gondek has on her mind…isn’t the fact that 13.4% of the population of the city and province was discriminated against for not being vaccinated →Link…she is concerned with the 4% of the population of Canada in the LGBTQ2+ →Link, an even smaller percentage of those who identify as Transgender…to be able put on Transgender Shows in taxpayer funded institutions with no age restrictions.
I’m going to bust the rest of this out in 2 more segments…just thought I’d make these bite sized pieces so that they are more easily consumed…up next…Jyoti Gondek had the election bought for her…
Great idea, does the City of Calgary have a mechanism for mayoral recall?
I believe what we are seeing in all levels of government is the Peter Principle.
" the principle that members of a hierarchy are promoted until they reach the level at which they are no longer competent."
