You nailed it as always. Though our best hope is Pierre, those who choose a career as an elected politician rarely make for the best choice. I hope I'm wrong.

As much as it will be a good thing if PP gets in, I also realize, as I know you do Sheldon, that the damage Turdeau inflicted on this country is GENERATIONAL. There is no way for any new PM to reverse or fix some of the permanent carnage the Liberals have wreaked upon our once amazing country

Claudette, you are so right. When we have WEFfies running the country their only agenda is the UN/WHO/WEF agenda. How's that going for us so far Turdeau, Freekland, Carney, Jagoff, Joley just to mention a tiny fraction of all the WEFfers in our midst? Even PP was a member as well as Max Bernier. They SAY they no lo ger are, but.... Reeeeeealllllly???? Did they leave? Or pay to have their names removed??

The sad truth is that 100's of BILLIONS of dollars have been WASTED (AKA LINED THE POCKETS OF INSIDERS) that could have been left in the pockets of citizens, put to use cleaning up ACTUAL pollution, or indeed put to work building beautiful cities and communities that have a steady supply of WATER.

Many a war has been lost by the enemy feigning a retreat. Who knows what “Marg Simpson” will do tomorrow or the deals he’s struck. They’re all in the WEF’s pocket anyway.

“If voting could change anything, they’d have it declared illegal”.

Don’t trust any of them but it’s good to see more Political involvement now than before as rising inflation and commodity prices are choking everyone’s disposable income. Adversity usually gets people off the couch.

Thanks, Sheldon. You may be just the catalyst that’s needed to go over the top.

So true! I could honestly say ten years ago I don't discuss (or know much about) politics. Now I can debate the best of them with eloquent language and relevant topics. I have become the opposite now. I have reason to be interested and passionate about what is happening to my once beautiful country 😭

But to me right now, voting seems to be the lesser of the two evils and I'm not playing theirs game any more. I. Know Turdeau is evil baaaad. But I'm afraid of PP too..

That nickname in the HOC!!? *The Weasel*!

I refuse to vote. Two wings of the same shitbird I fear. And Max Bernier is Just another Laurentian Mob, good ol boy. Getting paid off by the Turd to split the vote.

So scary when you drill down into our candidates.

Jag showed his true colours hooking up with the Libs for Rolex watches and nicer suits.

I feel your pain, take you at your word about being passionate.

Living and working in the US taught me patriotism - not for the US but for my home country. I hate seeing this inherited British Parliamentary system that primarily protects Corporate interests and is a voting farce to give people the illusion of Democracy.

However, it’s the best game at the moment and an opportunity to embarrass them with peaceful protests like the “fringe minority” Truckers’ Freedom Rally. Please don’t lose hope. Only with a majority can we see any kind of change. With a minority, all parties whose voters consistently have their hands out will lose their minds over cuts that will need to be made, a confidence vote will ensue and back we'll go to another election. These idiot fucking politicians think people r stupid. I mean, for a decent chunk of the population they're right, but to think it'll actually get them more votes is hilarious. Flip flopping last minute will cater to and appease the weak minded fools that r desperate to cling to their party, and to cling to their pathetic need to "have been right all along abt how great they are, doing the right thing for the environment/society". However, a few ndp'ers should be broke enough and awake enough to not fall for it. Here's hoping enough have woken up and there arent too many "newcomers" who have been given the vote along w a wad of our tax dollars to support the current government. I just got financially rapid renewing auto insurance w icbc so my hate on for the govt is high at the moment. Gotta move to alberta

Meanwhile, Trudeau is doubling down on doubling down. From today's Star:

“I’m not going anywhere,” Trudeau said. “I’ve got a fight to lead against people who want to hurt this country, who want to hurt our communities, and who want to take the country in directions that — quite frankly — are exactly the opposite of where the world needs to go.”

I've heard that you're supposed to learn to love your enemies. The proponents of that philosophy will have to settle for me thinking that Trudeau talking is now a good thing. A clear majority of people want a new government, a very clear plurality support the Conservatives, woke dominoes are falling literally everywhere, and just about everyone sees right through Trudeau's MASSIVE narcissism which is only matched by his hypocrisy, but Trudeau STILL thinks he's the authority on where the world "needs to go". And he and his leprechaun doubled down on carbon pricing as "the only way to fight climate change" - obviously oblivious to the fact that the carbon tax hasn't changed the climate at all. So finally, after 9 years, I think it's better if Trudeau keeps talking. He cannot and will not win back anyone but more people will absolutely despise him.

Now, some notes on the carbon tax. First of all let's dispute and dispel the word "pollution". The MSM could call carbon "plant food" if they weren't being paid off. Second, like all Marxist ideas the carbon tax fails because it tries to bypass (a) human nature and (b) economics. (a) Regardless of whether carbon is good, bad or neutral, the use of fossil fuel based energy raises standards of living. People want better living standards. That is an absolute fact. Marxists ignore that and convince themselves that people will accept lower living standards in favor of the Marxists' made-up cause (which by now you should know is a wealth-transfer grift). (b) There is a dismal lack of education or understanding about finance and economics at all levels of government. I believe it's because most of these douchebags were born with silver spoons up their asses, and/or they were coddled, and/or they are products of very urban environments. So they wear Birkenstocks in January, live their entire lives within a city block, and fully believe Whole Foods provides vegan options from a small greenhouse out back with zero reliance on a fossil-fuel, ICE-based supply chain. But out in the real world, the demand for energy is very, very inelastic. People need natural gas, oil, propane, gasoline, diesel and 2-stroke engine oil. So the carbon tax in and of itself will never, ever work as the left says it's supposed to work. All it will do is force people to spend less on other things, because the need for energy is non-negotiable. And we all know that if they ever did hit "net zero" it would be spin-doctored numbers, and they would just move the goalposts again and find a new target anyway.

He must be looking in a mirror .

He's the one talking Canadians in a direction we don't want to go in. The globalist pos. Worse than his father, who originally opened the floodgates of Indians to Canada. At least we had the infrastructure to handle that one. Now Castreau Jr is letting anyone in, unvetted, unchecked, with violent criminals and known terrorists.

This needs to STOP!!

Space is sexist now and we paid to know it. See below from the taxpayers federation mail out of wasted funds...

Did you know space is sexist? Don’t worry, I didn’t either.

But thank our lucky stars the federal government bankrolled an intersectional feminist report on outer space so we can see the light.

It turns outer space isn’t just “gender-biased.” It’s also “racist,” “exploitative,” “colonial” and “environmentally destructive.”

The feds spent $32,250 on this report to educate you. You don’t have to read the full report, because we did it for you and you can get all the juicy details from the Taxpayer Waste Watch below.

Enjoy.

Franco.

They go woke, you go broke: Feds fund feminist report on space

If you need any more proof the feds have too many bureaucrats with too much time and tax dollars on their hands, look no further than this:

The Department of National Defence spent $32,250 bankrolling an intersectional feminist report on the evils of outer space.

And just what are those evils?

Well…

Current approaches to outer space are “heavily Western, state-centric, militarized, masculinized and colonial” and encourage practices that are “racist, exploitative, elitist and environmentally destructive.”

“Terms such as ‘mankind,’ ‘astronauts and envoys of mankind,’ ‘man’s entry into outer space,’ ‘manned and unmanned stations of the moon,’ ‘manned spacecraft,’ and ‘man-made’ are … gender-biased,” according to the report.

The report authors seem to think this shockingly “sexist” language may be one reason why “women and other genders are not, for the most part, present in outer space.”

We wonder what former governor general (and astronaut) Julie Payette would have to say about that…

Payette is no taxpayer penny pincher, but we think even she could see this report is a waste of money from up in orbit.

The report also claims “colonial-based terms like ‘exploration’ and ‘conquest’ … normalize violence and exploitation.”

How, pray tell?

By depicting space as a “hostile and desolate environment that is unpeopled/inhuman and controlled so it can provide an extractable resource.”

Don’t worry: the report doesn’t just have criticisms, it also has solutions.

Current outer space practices should better incorporate “spirituality, astrology and cosmology, the last of which views celestial bodies in space as animated beings and not mere objects.”

Right…

Honestly, this report reads like a woke parody cooked up by ChatGPT, not an official document funded by the federal government with your tax dollars.

The report was pitched to DND as an opportunity to “draw on feminist/gendered analysis to apply a [Gender-Based Analysis] understanding to Canadian and international space security policy.”

The project included briefings and training with representatives from DND, the Canadian Armed Forces and Global Affairs Canada, as well as a separate “briefing and Q&A session for government officials,” according to records.

There was a time when Canada’s contributions to outer space exploration were a source of national pride.

But come to think of it, maybe the Canadarm symbolizes violence? After all, aren’t arms what people use to hit each other?

And take a closer look at all those rocket ships. On second glance, a little phallic, no?

In all seriousness, if academics want to waste their time writing this drivel, they can fill their boots.

But you shouldn’t be forced to pay for it.

Singh’s NDP (and many before him) have shown a total ignorance to the basics of market/demand based economies (market capitalism). This is fine because, as we’ve seen, most Canadians have no idea and are easily duped.

So, Singh was fine with adding (and increasing) the “cash grab with no oversight” known as the carbon tax - what good NDPer could ever say no to more taxes and bigger government? Now, however, seeing that voters have connected the carbon tax to higher prices and a massive affordability crisis, he moves on to his second mantra — tax and regulate corporations - in this case his huge hate-on for Galen Weston and all grocery resellers (except, of course, for the company that employs his brother). He wants voters to think he is the Sir Lancelot on his white horse fighting for the common Canadian (more likely an aristocratic wannabe with his Rolex, $2000 suit and BMW 8 series). He will cancel the tax (hurrah), which should (but might not) reduce prices but then tax and regulate corporations which will increase corporate costs and which, by basic logic, will increase costs to consumers. Similar to the impacts of increasing minimum wage, all consumer costs increase when corporate profits are reduced or supply is decreased (the same result but with different economic drivers of a proposed Guaranteed Basic Income).

All of this shows that no one in the NDP passed basic economics in university, excels in logic, or understands corporate pricing systems AND it shows that they know that the voters typically want a quick fix and/or a lie that will allow them to live their life without (too much) hardship.

Knowledge is power. In their case, manipulating voters’ lack of knowledge is powerful manipulation.

Btw - NDP will never align with the conservatives on any important principle - Singh has already said he (the party) wouldn’t back a non-confidence motion - meaning he still supports JT and the liberals - he is just trying to convince the voters that he’s not, hoping to keep more votes in a future election.

I agree with your sentiments on Singh but I don't think he himself was successful in manipulating voters' lack of knowledge. With the exception of the Layton years, which took advantage of the Ignatieff-inspired Liberal collapse, the NDP has always come in a distant third at the federal level. They have their core supporters, some of whom I have met, and those people are so ignorant and blind they should just sign up as wards of the state. Liberal voters, on the other hand, are the ones who were manipulated. I feared in 2019 that the Liberal minority was as good as a majority because the NDP socialists would prop them up. I was 100% certain before the 2021 election that another Liberal minority would be even more of a de facto majority, and that another Liberal minority would become the longest-tenured federal minority in Canadian political history, precisely because Trudeau will do anything to maintain power and that the NDP would do anything to stay in its role as kingmaker. So the real failure is on Liberal voters for either not seeing that unfolding before their eyes, or for being so consumed with their Liberal view of the world that they simply don't care that their party went left wing lunatic fringe. An interesting outcome of Singh's obsession with being the balance of power is that he rendered himself irrelevant. Liberals don't care about pharma or dental or childcare because Liberals don't care about budgets or deficits or straying way out of their lane and into provincial jurisdiction. So of course they went along for those rides. The supply & confidence deal cemented Singh as a doormat so his "show of power" made him an afterthought. I think he may have realized that now but it's way too late. He will be finished after the next election.
