And yet, if you were to attempt to defend your property, you would be the one going to jail. It's madness.

It definitely starts with catch and release. I can’t blame the cops for feeling defeated

Good time to talk to and get to know your neighbors.

Governments want to tax us and not provide services? Time, as anarchists and libertarians say, to engage in mutual aid (help each other), and “Do It Yourself (DIY)”. The less we rely on government the better off we will be for now, until governments in the West decide to stop attacking us citizens and again start providing infrastructure and services that benefit most if not all of us.

Elbows up for our communities not the Liberals.

These aren't "B&Es" or simple property crimes; when the residents are in the home these are Home Invasions. 2 decades ago offenders convicted of a home invasion, an offence which had become prevalent in Vancouver, usually received a 5 year sentence because residents were being seriously injured or even killed. If a family awakes to find an intruder or gang of intruders in their home it's a whole different level of potential violence.

Totally agree! As long as there is no jail time for these crooks, break-ins will multiply. We need to bring back a serious neighborhood watch again. With the courts allowing the criminals leniency, it's no wonder the police are frustrated.

The justice system sucks!

Thank you Sheldon, now you see why no one wants to be swimming in the pig pen of politics if you have one ounce of decency or ethics. Those that have that and want to change things, need not apply. Your a great guy, the world needs more like you and a lot less of the politicians we have

You are dead on , Sheldon. When we lived in Hamilton, only 31/2 yrs ago, that’s exactly what happened. We started to see daily posts on FB about peoples’ home being broken into in broad daylight. Many were from stay at home moms. And yes these criminals will stake out your house bc they don’t care anymore. No consequences.

What do these cops do to keep their family safe, oh wait they can shoot them in self defense unlike us poor goats who just have to stand by and get mugged, or worse killed.

Castle laws in USA would work very well here.

Problem solved.

I’ve been watching your campaign devolve from solution based and common sense to anecdotal and fear mongering. This is pretty disappointing. How about you start proposing solutions? Maybe some hard data root cause analysis so people learn there’s some substance there. Cmon man, be better
