I have worked in Healthcare in four different hospitals on this island and a couple of care homes; in a variety of roles. I have worked with some very experienced Addiction Counsellors, Mental Health personnel, and a variety of acute care hospital staff across departments. I also have known personally a few hardcore addicts that swore they would do me harm if I ever touched the stuff. Never in a million years, would I have thought our ever present government would sanction such a trial.

It has been a ludicrous and predictable failure here in BC; especially here on Vancouver Island from tip to bottom, but especially in Nanaimo and Victoria as I have witnessed personally. It's a minefield of used drug paraphanalia around, which is cleaned up often by community group as well as theft, break-ins and other destruction. The damage done to local businesses, physically and financially abounds with no efforts on the part of law enforcement, due to the catch and release process now! There is really no change is sight, unless and until a new government is instilled. I have attended both visits from PP to Nanaimo. Now I am sporting an Axe the Tax sign in my front window! Thus, due to a FB rant I had on a specific group, I was invited by a local PC rep to the Cow Valley rally to which I went. Very well attended indeed! Reps from Courtney to Victoria were there as well as J Rustad. A good question/answer period.....I stay in hope of the VOTE!! It can't come soon enuf over here.

Did you see Eby’s new nickname? Eby Escobar 😆 The voting intention polls have the Conservative Party of BC leading now hence the sudden about face for the BC NDP. BC is finally waking up 🙌 it will be interesting to see if they admit full failure on the other failed program of “safer” supply diversion. #MakeBCNDPFree

I'm not shocked, its about politics/votes. It was just another stupid waste of tax payers money to implement such a program. We as a province need to get rid of the NDP and Liberal government. Can you believe it, today at 11:25 I got a call from David Eby!!!!? I didn't take the call because I'm in a rather nasty pissed off mood of late, and I would not have been polite to him or his office leaches what so ever.

I just don't get how our Country is so full of losers, that includes the voters for (Liberal/NDP specifically), the people that just can't believe what they see and hear is going on!!!

I'm so baffled, it baffles me. My rant.

Love the story, but I found myself gnashing my teeth over the 'coast to coast to coast' thing Lol.

I think that gets me even more than the changed national anthem.

On a more serious note, it's great to hear some common sense entering into BC politics but you'd think it would be because of common sense, not politics. Fucking clowns

After Oregon scrapped this failed experiment I would have thought BC would take a harder look at their own abysmal results. It takes the prospect of losing voters that moves them to address the epic fail. Heartless, horrible people.

I wonder if they have an exit plan for these addicts they have babied all this time. Or will they just leave them to thier own devices, and watch the carnage go up.

So is this scrapping the so called "safe" supply program in BC or just banning the use of these drugs in public places? Can't find any other credible info on this.

I'm not one bit surprised by Eby. It's all politics and him wanting to be elected in the fall. Pretty crass when it's the votes that count and not the law abiding citizens of your province that have been subjected to this insane experiment. I'm sure we will be hearing soon from all the bleeding heart woke people who supported this insanity.

Probably because they know they are losing voters and will lose the next election.....sort of like the Federal WEFers.....

Way too late! Damage has been done. Homelessness and drug addicts are everywhere from small communities to big communities and the left-wing brain dead are all supporting them regardless. It's nothing but a big money making business. People/Societies helping homeless get govt grants and if they actually solved the problem or reduced it, guess what, no more grants. So they just ENABLE, over and over and let the addicts die in ever higher rates under the guise of "helping" them. GRRR

To be fair…the province (governor, Eby, whoever) said NO to the public space thing. It was the Supreme Court that overturned it and said yes.

Hopefully it was the parents in the playgrounds with the crackheads and tweakers that said GTFO.

I've said it before I'll say it again, let BC be a warning to Albertans should they ever consider voting NDP again. It leads to nothing but death, destruction, mayhem, murder, poverty, filth and decrepit-ness. (If you have any doubt, please see also "Edmonton and Calgary" under Sohi/Gondek)
