The reprieve may not be for the true reason, although the corrosion issue is real and has stopped other regions (e.g. Niagara in southern Ontario) from continuing to fluoridate, but it's a win and I'll take it. I mean, council has to back out carefully with face saved so we can pretend we don't see how much bullshit they were lugging behind them. By the way, I was one of the people who made Niagara decide not to refluoridate after a long intermission of several years that no one but the water plant workers knew about (corrosion did so much damage that they just quietly stopped putting the stuff in). Public health was bragging about the great dental stats in Niagara region without knowing there was no fluoride going in for years. So, Niagara region council passed a bylaw confirming that they would not refluoridate Niagara Falls or fluoridate any part of the brand new combined water distribution network. It saved them millions. And it did not cause a single cavity.
A short email, from your heart, is a better way to connect. In my long experience they don't read long emails. Do you have children or grandchildren or friends/relatives/neighbours with dental fluorosis and/or ADHD who were exposed to fluoridated water from conception onward in Calgary or Edmonton or any of Alberta's other fluoridated towns? These two things, the visible damage to teeth and behavioral-cognitive effects of fluoride's developmental neurotoxicity, are now scientifically established as effects of consuming fluoridated water in pregnancy and early infancy. And they are irreversible. Permanent. Can you get a ten minute appointment with your own councillor to state your concern in person? Can you make a deputation at a committee or board? I got a standing ovation for a four minute speech once. The chair of the board was apoplectic with rage and the Chief Medical Officer for Dental Health scurried out of the room when I came to the mike. They KNOW we are on point. Our elected reps rarely really listen to constituents and don't care about the science we attempt to get them to read. They DO like to obey unelected unaccountable ignorant arrogant public health officials and obnoxious idiots like Tim Caulfield and Juliet Guichon. That's what we're up against.
I use hydroxyapatite toothpaste, which also contains some xylitol, and minimize sugar in the diet. When I went for a dental checkup after not having gone for 6 yrs, the dentist was surprised that I had zero cavities, and not even any tartar to clean!
I've read that xylitol kills the bacteria responsible for creating the acid that causes tartar and caries. There is a company that sells X-Pur products with xylitol. Just keep it away from your pets. Poisonous to pets!
I haven't used fluoride in probably 15 years, with no issues. A lot of the time I just use water with my electric toothbrush. A decent Sonicare toothbrush does wonders.
How about Dr. Lapado Florida state surgeon general. Check out "Safe Water Calgary". Or just look up the Safety Data Sheet (SDS or MSDS) for hydrofluosilicic acid - required for chemicals and handling, or check out fluoridealert.org (and recent article Dentists: reasons | no longer promote fluoridation.
Yes my dentist’s dental assistant recently asked me to swish with this ‘Rinse’, as she handed it to me in a little paper shot glass, I foolishly put it in my mouth and then asked what it was. She said Fluoride, I swished, then spit as soon as I could. Then i said there are lots of questions about Fluoride, to which she said she had never heard any bad things about fluoride and it sounded to her like just a conspiracy theory… well I have seen too many bad things about fluoride and from now on, I will not do it and I will have the fluoride cost taken off my dental bill.
Hi Sheldon! City of Calgary responded to my letter last week:
"Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns about fluoridation. I understand this is an important matter.
The City of Calgary is committed to regularly reviewing all drinking water regulations in collaboration with Health Canada’s Drinking Water Guidelines, Alberta Health and Alberta Health Services. These organizations are aware of the latest information. Should recommendations of these organizations change, The City of Calgary will adjust accordingly.
The Federal guidelines through Health Canada’s Drinking Water Guidelines, allow for a maximum acceptable level of fluoride which is 1.5mg/L. The City of Calgary will be supplementing the natural water levels of fluoride to a maximum of 0.7mg/L, which is well under the Health Canada threshold.
As you may already be aware 62 per cent of the Calgary electors voted in favour of reintroducing fluoride during the 2021 General Election. This decision aligns with the public positions of the various medical organizations and the implementation is scheduled to begin in 2025. More information is available on the City of Calgary’s website at https://www.calgary.ca/water/drinking-water/fluoride.html.
Thank you again for reaching out and expressing your thoughts.

We should ask the City how many people voted in favour. Given the growth in the population and available research now, what percentage of the population would that "Yes" vote now represent?
Any thoughts or research anyone has done on fluoride being absorbed through mucosa tissue of the oral cavity? Dentists are telling their patients that it is only absorbed in the gut.
Everything is absorbed. I had a hairdresser long ago, who would go to Mexico for weeks in the winter and then come home for a couple weeks and go back. She felt awful at home. They finally figured out it was the minerals in the sea water that her skin absorbed while swimming/surfing. She started taking trace sea minerals when at home and she felt well again. People are applying ivermectin paste topically to skin cancers, and the skin cancers are healing. Those dentists are misinformed.

Do you have anything I can use to email Mayor and Council? I've already sent them a long email...

Where can I find legit sources that fluoride causes medical issues? I work in a dental office and patients are asking these questions.
I had Dr. Geoff Pain on a livestream last year. You can find his publications on fluoride on Researchgate: https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Geoff-Pain
Sheldon do I have to join Researchgate to view the articles?
No. I was able to view for free.
Okay I'll recheck the site
Thank you very much Sheldon!
It's a known neurotoxin. The University of Calgary published a video years ago showing how nerves react when fluoride is introduced. Hydroxyapatite is a good replacement for fluoride in toothpaste, and it helps remineralize teeth. This is a good article https://www.safewatercalgary.com/post/important-new-science-why-the-alberta-medical-association-should-not-ignore-anti-fluoride-research

Have you done any research on fluoride? If you have I'd love to hear it so I can pass it on.
Sarah, I have read many searchable articles, and viewed many publicly available youtube videos.
Another useful source of information: https://fluoridealert.org/
Thank you so much!!
Thanks Sheldon. Good info.
Hey everyone. This podcast has some great info and most importantly a very good example of how to actually fight this fluoride nonsense.

I want to smile more, and snarl less, that means less #fluoride, and less #gondek also?
Totally...
