Sheldon, am I getting this straight? Trudeau leveraged hard working Canadians life savings(safety net) for their exorbitant spending and wasting of our tax dollars all while taxing us into absolute poverty, and now that we Albertans have a premier who is actually working to protect us will result in total economic collapse of the country and the government wants to blame us? Please Canada, look at who drove this country into the ground!!

Kinda...It's actually worse than this.

They invested into Green and Renewable Energy Sources and THEN leveraged that money to secure loans. The reason for the push for Green Energy is to continue to prop this fantasy up. When either green collapses or AB leaves the CPP...you can set Canadian money on fire because it will be worth more in heat than will be in your ability to find somebody who will accept it for any value.

Absolute panic mode. They've just suddenly come to the realization that they've f*cked themselves and this country and if Alberta takes their ball and goes home the whole structure collapses. How ironic that this comes out the same day that the Lieberals voted to screw every Canadian that doesn't live in Atlantic Canada.

It’s actually a little surprising that they didn’t back off and agree to pausing the tax for everyone. If for no other reason than to appear to play nice with the west.

Yeah, about that..

In February 2022, we committed our portfolio to being net zero of greenhouse gas emissions across all scopes by 2050 and our internal operations to being carbon neutral by March 31, 2023 after significant study of what this commitment would mean for our organization and your retirement Fund.

If debt backs the Canadian dollar, and the debt is backed by the CPP, and Alberta pulls out of the CPP, then…

Well, better have your firewood and food stacked to the rafters. Oh, and beer too.

Alberta has the mountains on the west. Is their little brother over here on the east that bad? If anything, we need to build a wall to keep the NDP from Themitoba out.

Hopefully only a few more weeks. I just of course. Ok months. then nto the last two years of the current sitting government. I say this cause the mad influx of socialist thinkers will be the end of this current Alberta, and its ACTUAL minority gov. Yeah yeah I know. Just because they have the seats DOES NOT MEAN they rule the roost. Hrmm Hrmm... Growing numbers of public sector agents, no longer employees and socialist led unions for lemmings to continue earning.

Property fuct. Indeed.

So in other words Sheldon, we're all f..ked if you (Alberta) does or you (Alberta) doesn't. What the HELL do Canadians do? I'm in Mexico for 6 mths. I really shouldn't be reading all this, but I care toooo much. What are the solutions to these problematic situations? I wish I was an Economist!

It's a house of cards built on an ice cube during Global Boiling...

That's where we are, right now.

Our investments into renewables are the ice cube. Global boiling that nobody believes will decimate their value. The value of investment is used to leverage loans.

When the cube has melted enough...we're fucked!

Alberta should separate and have their own currency, the only answer to this chaos.

I wonder if Alberta could seperate with Little Brother? East Oregon wants to join Idaho.

What chance is there for this to happen?? It depends on the strength of the people. Both countries have problems with the Federal Gov'ts, who dictate the laws which are "best" for the people, through politicians who are rewarded by filling their pockets. Honesty is not a trait for a die hard politician.

I think the Federal Gov't would have a shit fit if Alberta seperated and started pumping oil again. Sask. has vast oil reserves just beneath the surface. The Federal Govt would send in the military and RCMP to squash the rebellion. At least there are micro breweries to celebrate small victories and keep us hopeful.

She let the cat out of the bag. She and the cabal that has taken over Canada only can borrow because put what should be segreagted assets up for collateral! Say it ain't so!

Not too long ago we saw a wall street firm pledge clients' assets against their own commitments and asI reall, the clients had no recourse when the firm defaulted and the assets seized. Same deal?

BTW, lately she and Trudeau both squirm when they speak. What's with that? I hate to guess out loud.

I have recently stumbled upon "The Great Taking" by David Rogers Webb (https://thegreattaking.com). Based on the info therein, I'd say "it's the same deal". I recently discharged a HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit) so that TD would not have a lien on my mortgage-free house. Perilous times.

Watch the trucking/air freight/rail sector: "Trucking is always the first into and the first out of a recession and right now we are in a horrible recession. There is no end in site."

Forgive me for being obtuse, given the lack of research on the contributions each province has made to the CPP, but how is it that Alberta with a much smaller population, has managed to contribute over half of the country's total contribution to this fund? Was it oil and natural resources that bumped up the numbers?

While, painful, watching the video was very enlightening.

I have no idea if this course of action for Alberta would be beneficial or work in the end but it's fascinating to watch. And apparently it's a huge concern.

It makes you wonder why successive Liberal governments have always treated the west with distain, particularly Alberta. Talk about biting the hand that feeds.

When I lived in Alberta in the early 2000' s I was amazed at how quickly the skyline could change from a brilliant sun-filled sky to fierce and powerful storm clouds. Looks like Alberta has unleashed a storm cloud on Trudeau's Sunny Day.
