The fact the feds are so against this is very telling and should be enough reason for everyone to look into this further. Everyone knows the feds take much more than they give back. Though I suppose senior sex stories from other countries told to senior Canadians was very beneficial and worth the $12,000 that taxpayers paid for this.

Fantastic clear analysis as usual Yak. There is something seriously rotten at AIMco. Corruption, malfeasance, incompetence, inefficiency and lord knows what else has gone on for far too long.

The cost of underperformance when managing pensions and Trust funds is beyond devastating, apply the rule of 72 and see for yourself.

What is the benchmark for returns these so called superstar portfolio managers are held to? I guarantee you AIMco has grossly underperformed all the major indexes which leaves Alberta with a devastating opportunity cost.

I suggest taking the $120billion, that the left wing nutjob economist came up with, right now and going to court for the rest

As you indicated there is an immediate net gain and it's impossible to know how much of the total cpp portfolio has been invested in Trudeau's green energy wet dream, and that investment is about to get decimated with a Trump presidency and rightfully so.

AB and SK should also come up with a line in the sand for separation and pressure Smith and Moe to acknowledge and accept that line, otherwise we will continue to be abused

Hasn’t the Liberal government moved our pensions to the WEF for management? Is this a part of the issue too?

do you know how many teachers pensions they have invested in, they keep that quiet but the ON teachers fund is neck deep in very risky loans provided to immigrants with no paperwork to verify their past finances or even their income. Not that I am crying over that it’s just it’s too bad most younger folks spend their time on Tik Tok to expand their knowledge and no time getting any financial education. I am putting together a report on the Grain Corridor the BRICS is almost ready to implement and believe me our agriculture in the west will be ghosts. Five years ago agriculture made up of 4.7% of the GDP, it now stands at 1.6%. For those that want to see there is no hope for the west if you stay in Canada, watch Aaron Gunns Fractured The Pillaging Of Western Canadian National. It lays it out that unless we could change the constitution, which we know the east won’t let us, who would provide the funds for those welfare provinces, seriously looking at separation is our only future even under the conservatives

Well I guess if Albertans like kicks to their faces and stay quiet, that’s on them. Time to seriously look at leaving Canada AB, because don’t think Smith will be on our side . Edmonton is the most despicable city in all of Canada. Did you know the relaitionship between Russia began to sour after Stephan Harper got in. The Russian ambassador said Pierre Trudeau Sr was a decent politician to deal with and often looked for ways to find common ground. Then in came Harper the bully he was and that went to hell. As a matter of fact he stated dealing with Quebec was much better than dealing with the conservatives provinces. They did what they felt was best for their province without dragging the rest of Canada down with it. So don’t think for a moment little Pierre will be any different than his mentor. Like the ambassador stated Canada is nothing but a vassal of the US, they do whatever the US tells them to

Another bang on assessment Sheldon. Unfortunately, it’s old news. We have been warned of this shit storm coming down a Looong Time Ago.

Does anyone here know the REAL reason the Alberta Government has been dragging its feet on this? They put forth many excuses, non of which hold water. From the moment Freeland et al opened her yap on this subject I knew it was doomed. We have been warned about the feds passing new laws to prevent AB from pulling out of the CPP. So here we are. Now today, two of our best doctors in the country are applying to leave Canada to join up with RFK Jr. in the USA. And the Hollywood Flakes are leaving the USA. Probably setting up shop here.

Day by day Canada is circling the drain getting closer to being flushed down the global sewer.
