Ah yes. The unvaccinated being barred from Public Venues. That was a very enlightening time for me. Living in British Columbia, I was basically banned from the public sphere. As were many Canadians who made the same choice as I did. I remember my " last meal in a restaurant" was on September 12th, 2021, the day before the edict took effect. My husband, sister and my brother-in-law accompanied me. All of them vaccinated but not agreeing with the discriminatory policy.
Until this insane policy was dropped in April of 2022, I experienced an internal living hell that no one in my fully vaccinated extended family really understood. Some even banished me from their homes. It was a tough time for me. On my side of the family, my only brother informed me he would never see me unless I was vaccinated. He has since changed his mind but we still haven't seen each other in 4 years due to various circumstances.
My male cousin, who I used to be very close to has banished me from his life. My crime. NOT VACCINATED. The irony is his partner was adamant about barring me, in spite of having suffered permanent damage from the ravages of Guillian Barre Syndrome due to the 1976 swine flu vaccine.
He's in his late sixties and needs help with various functions and wears leg braces! In my profound ignorance I believed he would be the last person to join the covid vaccine cult.
However during this time I was fully supported by my partner, my two adult daughters, my sister and husband and my 4 grandchildren and a few friends.

In some ways my reply sounds like a sad lament for the unvaccinated and how I suffered. To the contrary, I am so very glad that I marched to the beat of my own drum. I proved to myself that I could trust my instincts based on what I believed to be true at the time. I learned a lot about myself during that time of banishment and realized I could cope with it.
So now I feel more confident than ever that I made the right choices.

It seems to me now that the reason I stayed alive after spending 5 decades not wanting to was for this very purpose.
I believe in the concept of humanity. I believe in the concept of life (now).
I had children to further both concepts and was granted another generation of children to protect as well.
I also believe in the concept of duty and as I've been granted grace and mercy, it is my duty to extend it to others.
I've done my best to inculcate these concepts into my progeny.
