Today a colleague accused me of spreading Alberta separation. First of all, I am not from Alberta, second, I hail from N.S. which would be in a desperate situation if they do not have the transfer payments rom Alberta. I did tell her that I totally understand why Albertans want to separate and if they do, blame the liberals for destroying the country and forcing their hand. She lost her mind. Some Canadians are truly bats$t crazy. I do wish I was from Alberta. Can I claim refugee status?
He reminds me of some little shill being paid by the lying government to persuade people to abandon the separation!! I'm in Ontario and would gladly support separation but unfortunately Doug Fraud is only wearing conservative colours but he is a liberal through and through!!
I wish I could be surprised at just how disconnected (i.e, ignorant) people are, but unfortunately I am not.
Clowns like this joker clearly prove just how far our country has fallen…and it won’t get back up.
Alberta needs to put itself first and head for the nearest exit. You’ll never convince airheaded socialists like this to think past the end of their next government subsidized toke.
As always, fantastic article, even if it's about a soy boy's opinion I could care less about. As an aside, my wife will never judge you about how many tabs you have open as she's also has a bad tab fetish. :)
We're gonna be needing some serious accounting to shake this all out. Overseas BS spending on gender intersectionality et al... hmmm let me take a few minutes to decide if I think I should be paying for one red cent of any of those "programs".... Nope, I really don't.
Here's a thought, Liberal program funding can be picked up by Liberal, NDP & Green voters (possibly some Bloc in there). Conservative voters get included in the federal program spending that benefitted the nation, Albertans would agree to pay for programs that benefitted Alberta. Figure out the percentages and divvy up the costs, I think that would whittle our slice of the debt down substantially and we could be done with the mess that's been created.
Too true, but that was just a wish list to get started with, I wouldn't expect any of it to be granted. It would make sense tho since their spending over the last however many years seems to be a constant middle finger to the taxpayer
his body language: leaning to the top-right of screen in the screenshot gallery you display is interesting. if i was a trained behaviour analyst i'm sure i'd have intelligent insight about it. but i'm not... so i just observe how odd it is to me and that i bet it means something.
and dude. plenty of intelligent and good people consume cannabis. i'd be looking at a combination of SSRI's or other anti-anxiety/anti-depression meds, ADHD meds, and sleeping pills (some of which are anti-psychotics) and fluoride as a contributor to (i dunno how to call it... compliant? unthinking? ignorant? delusional? stupid?) behaviour.
Take it easy, Cheech...there was no assumptions drawn on your herbage consumptions...except to maybe advise you to stay away from the camera and online streams if you're a heavy consumer.
i'm not feelin' judged or anything. just sayin' there's likely a pharmaceutical cocktail of brain management medication at play in this specimen. maybe he's also stoned but i think the demeanour fits a sad and way too common profile....
just another point, if Alberta were to separate, hasn't the USA welcomed them to join the union? so then hospitals, border, etc. would be at least partially funded by USA's debt rather than Canada's? while Alberta also stops subsidizing the other provinces?
Can you imagine if the Democrats get back in power? Alberta would be in pretty much the same predicament as we are now plus the Mexican border would open back up and Alberta would be flooded again. Not to mention taking on a portion of that insane debt load as a prerequisite to using their dollar!
I'm good with Alberta as an independent entity / state / country
yeah. i'm all for smaller and local governance that can represent meet the needs of the local citizens.
just adding to the mix that Alberta has -as far as i can tell- been presented with options. going it alone/independent being (probably) the best for sovereignty, but joining up an undeniably powerful neighbour is another option. basically, Alberta is not an ugly girl who nobody wants to dance with at the prom.
Mmmm, not where I was going at all, sorry dude. A Republican gov't would always be a friend and ally to an independent Alberta. Democrats...not so much

c'mon, that's a woman
Is it?
I mean...that really doesn't change much...but is it, really?
Alberta separatists don't hate Canada, they just love Alberta a lot more.

While I don't disagree...we are at a bit of a negotiation mercy.
Mutual consideration will be required...and this may involve us swallowing one last load.
But...if it's the last, at least it's not the next, right?

he's left-leaning, in an actual physical sense.

Agreed, i don't see any logic to going to the extent of a complete separation just to run into the arms of the trumpster.
I don't hate Trump, but he's not much of a friend to Canadians (or the new Albertainians)

I was simply agreeing that I also prefer Alberta as an "independent entity" not so enthused about the 51st state narrative that is pushed.
