I wanted to put this out there.. since this covid thing.. I trust no supplements made by big corps. We know they're not there to make us healthier. We can make ourselves healthier with taking care of our nervous system, pure chemical reactions why stress kills, we have a ton of control over this (another secret #105). Plus the travelling thing.. in the 80's and 90's, travelling by air did not make you sick. Hmmm? Try this this holiday season..and I am half joking.. but stop drinking bottled water and see what happens.
You are on it Sheldon from many angles and I like that . It really is about health choices and reading about all the possible things we can do to empower our own health options . Just wondering if you are aware of so called health canada's intentions to take over the natural health industry and point us in the direction even more so to only big pharma choices . However , I love my daily ice cold 6 minute showers along with Wim Hof breathing and have not had any cough / cold or any health related symptom all though and years before this virus debacle - funny what looking after your own health can do .
All great Kat ,even those 40 seconds . I discovered the Wim Hof method a few years ago and after reading lots about him and even taking a course , I've come to appreciate his philosophy about health and the cold . Lot of stuff to research.
If I recall , one part of the course was in fact building up your time in the ice cold showers ,going from 30 seconds for a week , go up more the next week and somehow both my husband and I landed on 6 minutes. I will be researching the papers for the benefits in relation to the time because it's freezing in this old leaky house on a good day but he will say learn to do his breathing as well . I do the breath work before I get out of bed and then jump right into the ice cold. Read up and then decide if it works for you based on your overall health - mine was good to begin with and it certainly contributes to an overall great feeling through out the day - I'm mid seventies . It really is about a daily routine that becomes part of your lifestyle and it does get easier with the dedication . Lots of stuff about Wim on u tube and he is very generous with his knowledge . Doctors frequently trying to shut him down - bet that doesn't surprise you !
Thanks. I found him online years ago, read a lot but then only did 30 seconds in the shower, never built up to longer. My health is pretty good but love natural ways to improve. Cheers 😃

There are plenty of doctors who disagree. There is no such thing as an immune system per se. 6 minutes under the cold water? I’ve done this but only for about 40 seconds. Did you start with a few seconds and work your way up?
