In Ontario, Long Term Care institutions held residents hostage for twice that long, illegally, without provincial authorization or mandate to do so. They prohibited outdoor trips and overnight home visits for residents who refused the gene jabs, and prohibited indoor visits and caregiving from family members like me who refused the gene jabs, despite my legal role as POA, by claiming the province mandated this. The province did not, but was happy to let the lie stand. So during the almost three years that I was denied access to my elderly mother, she suffered neglect, isolation, loneliness, and a host of preventable infections and injuries as well as nutritional deficiencies and prescription drug reactions. She had untreated scabies for months, but the ivermectin that cured her in one dose was withheld because the province put it on a restricted drug list so it could not be prescribed without a special application proving it was not for treatment of Covid. She rapidly declined - lost speech and ability to feed herself, cannot swallow solid food. And is now dying. The home gaslit me for months about her deterioration because they knew I couldn't come inside to prove it. With the help of my MPP I confronted the home in January and successfully gained entry to resume daily care. I cannot help but believe this stage of her life would still be in the future had the home not lied about a jab mandate for family caregivers.
