The whole idea of enabling addiction is completely ludicrous! Believe me, have seen enough devastation from this model to last a lifetime. Originally from BC and have seen the toll "safe supply" has taken on BC communities. Not much I'm afraid of but walking through areas that now have "safe" consumption sites scares the shit out of me!

It’s not working so good in BC, we need treatment centres. Little old grandmas should not be too afraid to walk to the grocery stores a block away because people are using safe supply near by and looking all sketch.

In other words, don’t let it happen.

My PSA for the day coming from downtown Hellcouver.

And meanwhile BC NDP is likely to lose the election this year, in part due to safer supply. Residents know that there is no such thing as safer supply. Addicts need help and support to get clean - not easy access to so called safer drugs that will continue to keep them sick and dependent and eventually using illegal drugs again once they’ve maxed the safer supply limits. (Because that’s how physical dependence works - there is no level that will make someone never develop tolerance, their need to take more and more will forever increase until they get clean.)

Sheldon take your investigative skills and look who is involved in Canadien Infrastructure Bank and the group pushing for the hydrogen rail link between Banff and Calgary. Huge amount of money and lots of pushing going on for this. We cant even get our roads we have looked after let alone get tangled up with a $2.6B project just to build and we know it will never be built on time in AB. Must be some big wigs pushing for this, someone who stands to fill their pockets.

Why don't you call up the safe supply injection site and ask them who supplies the drugs. The same criminals who hooked the poor souls on them.

Living in B. C. all I can say. Is don't go there. Safe supply is a an unmitigated disaster as far as I am concerned. Our Provincial court system has deemed it unconstitutional if we don't allow addicts to partake in their chosen poison in pretty much anywhere they choose. As of March 2, 2024 the B. C. Supreme Court has paused a law that banned drug consumption in public places, citing " irreparable harm".

Interesting phrase it gives one pause to question the definition of " irreparable harm".Obviously it's harm to the drug addicts and not possible harm to the general law abiding not addictived general population. This appears to turn justice and commen since upside-down.

In the last news cycle we have now become aware that not only can patients in British Columbia enter a hospital with a knife up to 4 inches in length they can use their drug of choice and its definitely not a doctor prescribed one. I'm currently trying to find an acceptable 4 inch knife on line since self defense may become an issue should I ever have the misfortune to end up in a hospital. Who knew that going to the hospital to save your life may not be what we envisioned. Now it seems we may have to arm ourselves as chaos breaks out in one of the places most people assumed were safe. From all accounts it appears that drug dealers are actually selling their wares within these hallowed institutions.

The NDP party has had a bad week which is a bummer while knee deep in an election campaign for the prize in October of this year. The drug issue won't go away and they are flailing trying to justify their insane approach to the huge drug problem we have in this Province. A few days ago our illustrious minister of health suggested that they would assign " safe spaces within hospitals to use drugs" and within a 24 hour news cycle denied they were ever considering it. Aren't election cycles fun.

For me personally I avoid most cities in this Province with the exception of the one I live in and right now in my enclave has been struggling with shootings within blocks of where I live. It's calmed down for now but a mere few months ago it was like AL Capone had descended on our city.

We now are hearing suggestions that the drug bonanza funded by this Province is making its way into other Provinces and ending up on the black market.

Be warned.

Trudeau made sure on his most recent visit to British Columbia ( shilling for votes) to explain how this current safe drug supply was with everybody's interest in mind. Just a few tweaks to work out.

If folks want to hear what was going on in Chestemere, corruption to the core and Rick McIvor hushing it up with false claims, go listen to SNP podcast with the mayor JeffColvin. Ihave to tell you when it comes to government , it takes alot to shock me but was going on there shocked me. There’s money laundering, hush money, and McIvor thinks he’s going to win, well he won’t on this . If this can happen in Chestemere a smaller community then Edmonton and Calgary what is going on in these cities? And obviously the UCP isn’t going to look into it, but cover it up
