I haven't enjoyed the pleasures of my backyard and family as much as I would have liked too this year, but this last week has been a prep for the festival finale of Summer 2022. My first vacation since starting my new position and while may not seem like I’ve actually earned one…I’ve enjoyed the time.
Spent the week prepping for the long weekend and around our house, the last weekend of summer is a pretty big deal. For one, it’s the last long weekend of summer and for the main, it’s my granddaughters birthday.
She’s turning 6.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand for the last 6 years, we’ve used this time to do both, close off the summer and have one last summer bash, this year would be no different.
I’m sure you’ve seen the Pallet Builds on YouTube or Facebook…and while a lot of these rely on very perfect situations and most barely resemble a pile of distorted firewood at the end, I’ve partaken in the craft. Granddaughters birthday theme being “Candy Land”, I’ve crafted this same makeshift firewood to resemble an actual candy stand for the festivities, (I’ll show some pics once we have this bitch fully loaded).
We’ll see some 60-80 people through the yard this weekend and this is an event that I absolutely love. I get a chance to pull out my culinary skills, entertain friend and new-to-be-found friend, and crush off my last weekend of sinful consumption for the year.
Like every year…it will be glorious…but painful - I will surely imbibe beyond reasonable levels….However…
Not forgetting about the situation we are actually in, I’ve taken a moment out of my weekend preparations to meet up with a new friend, Drew Weatherhead, for a beer.
I was drinking the beer and thus my Popeye(esque) appearance….Drew was in for a soda and burger.
If you’re not sure who Drew is, he invited me to his podcast a while back:
And we discussed some topics for a future followup cast.
Along with catching up with just life and family shit…I mean, we’re just a couple of Albertan dudes trying to navigate this current pandemic landscape…families and all, Drew has 4 kids, myself for only 2 but with 3 grandchildren, you can appreciate our concerns going into fall of 2022…
Drew has been a lot more involved in things globally and recently started his own substack, to feed off of his ‘Social Disorder’, podcast and has just interviewed Dr. Peter McCullough for his casts and stacks:
Brother Drew has been breaking some ground and if you aren’t already subscribed to his podcasts or stacks, I’d recommend you doing that now.
We’ll be catching up on a future podcast, which I will link to, when completed…which will happen as time affords….but, what I want you to realize is that Drew is pipped into a lot of information that he reports on, where I keep rather localized…much the reason that he’s chatting with Dr. McCullough and I’m blowing up balloons for a 6 year olds birthday party…
Long and the short of this is…
I am going to have an absolutely amazing weekend to close off my summer and celebrate my granddaughters birthday and I hope you have the same opportunity to do the same, in closing out this summer…
While I’m taking somewhat of a personal hiatus in posting, I’m still following the feeds…

If you want a larger reach into the current situation, I’ll happily pass along my brother Drew, to help keep you, ‘in the know’.
Happy Labour Day Long-Weekend, my friends.
I’ll catch you on the return from my holidays and hope to see you watching me catch up on a followup cast with, ‘Social Disorder’s’ own Drew Weatherhead!
Really good breaking bread with you, Sheldon.
We've got a growing and remarkably powerful community of difference makers in Alberta. It's only a matter of time before they all know each other.
Enjoy the long weekend, my man 🤙
Enjoy your weekend. Then consider tying your numbers together with Steve Kirsh and John Dee. John Dee confirms your data with his UK data. The Yak Stack does the same for Canada. 3 substacks. 3 big and varried personalities. 3 countries. 3 causal connections with time lags. Thinking out loud here. Do you need to get on a zoom where you each present your substack data. It's an echo. Also you each comb the data in a unique way. Have your own unique stats. This is where 1 plus 1 plus 1 don't equal 3. They equal a million.
