In order to trust the science on vaccinations it’s fairly important to understand what science you are supposed to be looking at. There have been a lot of words that have been redefined over the last 18 months but the one that is most predominant and will be in focus for a while is the definition of Vaccinated.
Vaccinations are not new and with exception to certain select groups of individuals, are fairly well supported and tolerated as in, we get them without little question and move on with our life. Additional doses of vaccines are not new but the frequency at which we are told to now accept them - specific to the COVID vaccines, has changed quite dramatically.
Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
A single shot recommended to be dispensed at 12-15 months, a second shot at 4-6 years old, according to CDC recommendations. If you are an adult and don’t show evidence of immunity, 2 doses to be administered 28 days apart and then as long as you continue to show evidence of immunity, which in these cases would most likely be, never getting measles, mumps or rubella, you will never need to get another one for the rest of your life.
For COVID, we have been given the same sort of protocol with a minimum 14 day window between vaccinations and you are only considered fully vaccinated when 14 days after your second dose. This is the new definition of being Fully Vaccinated.
How has this been playing out and has the vaccinations actually had an impact on spreading the virus or keeping people out of the hospital and away from dying? Everything you read in the news would indicate that this is exactly the case unless you actually looked at the definition and timeline.
Up to August 2nd, (most recent data tracker information available, 59.7% of the population had been vaccinated and 7 day case averages were down to 811 per day from a peak case count on April 17th where the 7 day average was 8729. An approximate reduction in cases of 90% which you have to agree, is pretty damned decent. The more people that were “Fully Vaccinated”, the less people were spreading the virus and thus the justification for governments wanting to Mandate Vaccinations to federal employees and for travel and even encourage some businesses to refuse traffic to those people who do not trust this evidence of vaccine efficacy.
You Filthy Sick Anti-Vaxxer!
But wait a second. Let’s see how this all really played out with our newly defined “Fully Vaccinated” definition.
On about June 10th, about 10% of Canada’s Population was had received their 2nd Jab. Fourteen days after (allowing for the vaccines to be fully effective), new cases were down from the April 17th peak of 8729 to 770.
Better than a 90% reduction in cases followed by only 10% of the population being “Fully Vaccinated”. Since then, we’ve added another 50% of the population to the Fully Vaccinated list of Canadians and cases have started to go back up.
To give credit to the vaccines for this is akin to trying to make you believe that COVID was afraid of the Vaccination Program in Canada and stopped infecting people. You are fine to believe this but this is the same pattern of logic that had virgins sacrificed by the certain cultures to ensure better crops. Maybe just waiting for a little rain is what brought the rain?
Is it possible that without the vaccines, we’d be looking the same right now anyways?
This phenomenon isn’t exclusive to Canada and the definition of “Fully Vaccinated” isn’t going to stop at a second dose, Israel - who lead the globe in the 2 Dose solutions is on Dose 3 and already has 13% of it’s population classified under the Triple Dose “Fully Vaccinated” definition.
How is that all working out for them?
Will discuss this next.
