Some Inconvenient Data for Health Canada?

I was invited into a conversation earlier today and it brought me to the Federal Site for COVID tracking, Health-Infobase - Canada, and of course what is the first thing I go to check for?

How many people died.

Ya got me.

Anyways, having not really looked at this in a while, I checked out the Total Cases, Hospitalizations and Deaths for the Vaccinated and Unvaccinated. This is what I found…

From December 14, 2020 to January 15, 2022, there were a total of 12,069 COVID related deaths in various stages of vaccination.

Unvaccinated - 8,479

Cases Not Protected (got first vaccinated and died within 14 days) - 770

Partially Vaccinated (got first vaccination and died after 14 days) - 788

Fully Vaccinated - 2,032.

Now, knowing that Alberta has passed 650 fully vaccinated deaths, their Vaccinated Death number seemed a little low. Cut off was January 15th, so…maybe that would account for it?

[Spoiler Alert] No it did not.

So I decided to head over to Our World Data and checked it out.

December 15, 2020 - 13,661 Deaths.

January 15, 2022 - 31,464 Deaths.

Total - 17803.

Total reported on the Stages of Vaccinations chart - 12,069.

Missing Deaths = 5734.

Well that’s odd, hey?

How’d Health Info Base Canada miss 5,734 deaths(32%)?

Of course, wanting to verify the numbers, I compared the current deaths from Health Info Base and Our World Data, just to make sure that they were in line.

And they were not exact, they were off by Our World in Data being lower by 2 deaths than Health Info Base Canada.

Well, when we’re looking for 5,734 Missing Deaths, the difference of 2 probably isn’t going to make that much amount of difference, but here is what probably will.

Since at least Mid December, 2021, Vaccinated have made up for 70% of the Death Rate in Alberta. The Daily Updated Health Info Canada, stopped reporting on this on January 15th, 2022. There were already 5734 Missing Deaths and from today’s date, that number looks like 8,989 more deaths to add to their data. With 70% in the Fully Vaccinated, assuming that epidemiology and biology all areas of Canada are relatively similar…

The chart above would show that

Fully Vaccinated: 8324

Cases Not Protected (got first vaccinated and died within 14 days) - 770

Partially Vaccinated (got first vaccination and died after 14 days) - 788

Kept the same

Un-Vaccinated: 11,176 - 53%

Partially to Fully Vaccinated: 9,882 - 47%

Now, it still seemingly shows favorably for the Vaccinated group, marginally, but the big thing that you need to keep in mind is that Health Info Base started recording unvaccinated deaths on December 14th, 2020.

It took Canada 6 months from when Health Info Base started recording vaccination deaths before 5% of the population of Canada was Fully Vaccinated.

With a 6 Month Head Start…the Fully Vaccinated deaths are catching up to the Un-Vaccinated. How do you think people will still defend vaccines and passports when the Actual Numbers of Deaths with Vaccinated are in excess of the Unvaccinated, if they haven’t already done that?

Honest mistake or some inconvenient data from Health Canada?
