Not a single vaccine in existence provides protection from infection or disease. Rather, they are all intended to prompt an immune system response such that the immune system can provide protection. How much of a difference is any vaccine going to make for a severely immunocompromised person when it's the immune system that actually does all of the work?

Note the last bullet point recommending that the fringe minority get the whole series of doses because good reasons always.
