As someone who recovered from Lyme then went on to be health practitioner helping others recover from Lyme, I'm very well versed in the stealth nature of Borrelia species. One of the first concerns that comes up for me reading this is whether or not eventual mass vaccination (which they'll surely be angling for) with a Lyme vaccine might drive said spirochete to become even more adept at immune evasion. Took me 37.5 years to get a correct diagnosis of Lyme (originally fibromyalgia in 1981). I'm in my fourth year of treatment. I don't think I could ever recommend taking a vaccine like this though. What's lacking in the medical profession in awareness and treatment. You've still got neurologists diagnosing people with ALS (or Parkinson's, MS, etc.) that actually have neurological Lyme disease (my friend had such a dx), and MDs standing by thinking that if you don't have a bullseye rash or if the tick was only attached for a few hours that you won't have a problem (both false). Besides, Lyme is a blood borne illness (so mosquitoes and spiders are also suspected carriers), is sexually transmittable like syphilis and can be passed from mom to baby. Oh, and what about all the co-infections those ticks carry, like Babesia, Bartonella, Ehrlichia, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, etc? They're only looking at a very small slice of the Lyme (over 300 strains) and co-infections pie. Hard pass.

Lyme created on the island between NYC & Boston, cannot recall the name. My Lyme is dormant right now. So many autoimmune issues..
