I’ve drilled into the 120 day death rate of COVID and talked about the following a few times before but I figured I’d see what else was going on with this picture. Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have maintained that we are not protecting those who actually need it from COVID but we are spending through a lot of time, energy and resources to watch the same - High Risk - people continue to die with every measure that the province has taken.
Those are the people listed HERE, which currently make up 95.7% of all of the COVID associated deaths since the start of the pandemic.
It’s only by watching those who have No Condition that I am actually able to isolate and work to fix the errors in AHS reporting. Here’s what needs fixing:
The people with No Conditions.
At current, over the last 120 days according to Table 13, these people make up 109 of the 804 COVID associated deaths or about 14%. This seems high, because it is and I’ll show you how.
To work this out, the first thing to do is verify the total deaths in the last 120 days and I did this 2 ways, 1 by wayback machine and the other by data download.
Checking the data download, current to today, there are 3429 deaths. As of September 21, 2021 (120 days ago) there were 2813 - difference of - 616 deaths.
The 120 day report says 804, the data says 616?
Hrmmmmm…well, we know that AHS retroactively changes data…so, a couple of screen shots from the site one from September 21, 2021 to today might help confirm the 120 day data. Or…so I had hoped.
[Spoiler alert] It did not
As of today, Highlights confirms with the data that there are 3,429 deaths, September 21, 2021 shows 2594 - difference of 835 deaths.
Data = 616 Deaths.
120 day Chart = 804
Website Highlights = 835
This is a little more significant than the total deaths varying by source by 219 deaths from lowest to highest reporting because this is Day 2 of the use of Provincial Passports - September 20, 2020 being day 1.
I haven’t seen any press where Dr. Deena has stated a correction and certainly one where 219 deaths were clerically misplaced would surely have made some headlines…maybe not on CTV or CBC, but I’m sure I would have seen this.
So, I am going to assume that the data reported up to the end of day and posted on the website is in fact the correct data, meaning that the 120 day total should read 835 Deaths.
From here, it was trying to figure out how many people with No Conditions Died in this time-frame and through the use of screenshots, this proved a pretty easy task.
On September 21, 2021, there were 84 deaths in this group, as of current January 20, 2022 there are 148 - difference of - 64.
So, where the 120 day report from the very top of the page says there are 109 people with No Condition who died, there are actually only 64 - difference of 45 people.
For those of you keeping score at home…this is what it looks like.
This removes vaccination status, which I get but that’s not the point I was trying to make. On Table 13 COVID-19 Deaths in the past 120 days → Here, it’s easy to have a look and see deaths by vaccination status but what we don’t immediately look at is that the people who were at Highest Risk since the start of the pandemic - with a condition or multiple conditions - are still the absolute highest risk and still make up over 90% of the deaths.
While we are busy talking about locking down vaccinated or unvaccinated, people in most need of protection are not getting it. We have busted the economy, sacrificed 2 years of our lives, damaged our youth immeasurably and have been politically divided on a pandemic by vaccination status instead of actual risk.
After 2 years!
3,429 Lives Lost - with/from COVID
And everything that we’ve done and argued about over the last 2 years hasn’t ever been focused on trying to reduce risk in the Highest At Risk Groups.
Shameful really.
It’s no wonder that AHS keeps having these convenient Clerical Issues with their data reporting, hey?
As for the significance to the Vaccine Passports that have been adopted Provincially, these have specifically cost the province 771 lives. We’ve focused on a QR application to try and stop a respiratory virus and now that we can see it’s catastrophic failure, can we please stop this madness, get things back to normal while actually focusing on the high risk?
Find out why I monetized my substack →Here.
Okay, this probably won’t happen…but you should read the link above anyways.
What a fantastic, clear cut write up with a brilliant data presentation Sheldon. I am absolutely in awe with this. I am still struggling to get right data here. Seems like everything is masked. And I have no clue how many masks are there yet. You are right about we aren't doing this right afterall
