Hey Finally a post without video!
Yeah…I’ve definitely had some fun in working with the video stuffs…while it has been challenging, it’s been an interesting learning process. Sure…my videos are mostly trash, but the content is good and it allows me to post in a lot more information and have actual live speaking from the House, because genuine and verifiable information has been the crux of my posting.
There have been times when some of the information I have posted hasn’t been verifiable and while I am reluctant to post, some of it seems to important to not…if for only the reason to open up conversations.
When comes down to it…I personally still prefer the written Substacks because it’s easier and a lot less time consuming. When I’d first began, it would take me equal length to assemble a substack written as does a video version, both of these times have greatly reduced, but I still prefer the written.
The reason I never got into podcasts much or video, is because I just simply didn’t want to be on camera…I have an appearance built for Radio but not so much the personality…at least when I’m recording.
EMOTE MORE…welp, I can do a decent job emoting through written content but when comes to video version, don’t want to seem to sensational or Alex Jones in my posting…I don’t want an over-the-top presentation to take away from the content and don’t want to come off as a raving lunatic.
So…as some of you have emailed me and replied that written is your preference, I will be doing my best to continue to do some streaming video and incorporate written content summaries as we go on…which, is EXACTLY the inverse of what I’d planned.
When my son first proposed the idea of a video stack, we’d talked about a weekly summary done in short 15 minute segments as a weekly wrap up…maybe like an open conversation, him some questions, me some answers…open dialogue. However, with what has been flying past and with the amount of actual video that I want to incorporate, the limitations on a substack post have made it so that doing video drops can hold more information than I can get in a written post.
This does leave a lot of linked information out, given that you can’t just click on the videos and see what I have referenced, like I do in written versions, but for anything that is available now, I will drop the links into the post as well as work on having the transcriptions posted for reading.
Balance…More of what I’ll be shooting for because all of your input and conversations are important to me.

What I’d seen in HoC committee this week summarized.
Stars on the week for questions included the following:
Larry Brock;
Michael Cooper;
Michael Barrett;
Garnett Genuis;
Stephanie Kusie; and not forgetting to mention,
Kelly Block.
I am more than sure that EACH one of these MPs is feared by the opposition and up until I started seeing all of these in action, I honestly had little to low respect for actual politicians.
For the most part, I viewed politicians as all the same at a level just below absolute disdain…having started meeting with some of the MLAs and City Councilors from Calgary and Alberta, this had swung into appreciating that they are just people, like you and me that wanted to work to change their communities for the better.
In what I’ve seen from the above…these seem more career politicians, in it for the long-haul and know the system as well as how to try and effectively work inside of it. And this has been amazing to watch.
TV, for the most part is bullshit. I can’t watch it anymore and when I do, I watch decade(s) old shows on Netflix or Prime. The majority of anything new that comes out is offensively stupid or so inundated with commercialism that it’s intolerable and just drives up my heart rate and blood pressure.
Finding CPAC and watching these segments of what is actually going on, without a Legacy Media Spin has been a personal savior for my mental state, even though a lot of the information that is presented is horrifically troubling.
If you’re in the same boat on what you can no longer watch on TV or need a good pass, when social media and your reading choices come up empty, check out CPAC and have a gander through the historical beat. In this, I wouldn’t recommend Question Period or anything that Justin Trudeau is featuring in…you’ll punch the lights out of your devices having to watch this infuriating garbage.

And by all means, if you find anything juicy that I may have missed, loop a brother in!
I never talked much about Kelly Block throughout the week but I can honestly say, I love this woman!
She seems so unassuming and meek in appearance that you’d wonder what she’d lend…but she’s an absolute VIPER and a POWERHOUSE of delivery. Seriously…love this woman!
Her part this week was to try and ascertain if Comptroller General, Roch Huppe believed if they’d provided an effective and valuable service to Canadians on the Arrive Scam ap…and her facial expression throughout his answer was Priceless!
Echo’s my sentiment…and I bet she has a mickey in her purse to just make it through this tribble, in the same way that I’d have to going through this live and in person.
OF COURSE the people that audit themselves believe that they did a fair job, while admitting abysmal failure and a promise to improve, expressed Roch.
lol
Past this was the 2 Michaels and Larry who continuously rained down blow after blow on each department and member head who’d appeared.
Throughout this, they continuously brought up GC Strategies for excellent reason…there’s a world of incompetence and corruption that surround the procurement process with the Government of Canada and their point was to try and highlight each of these failings.
How does a company, with only 2 employees, acting as only a Middle Man, without the proper security clearance in place, manage to secure over 100 government projects worth over $100 Million Taxpayer Dollars, while doing no more work than passing paper?
How were they able to lie in committee, admit to fraudulent tactics and only be considered for a suspension of contracts from the Government of Canada?
How were they looped into writing RFP’s (Request for Pricing)?
How were they able to make these RFP’s so specific, that it eliminated any other competitor from even bidding on the same projects?
How were they selected, by only being on an active bidders list, for projects they never entered in a comprehensive plan on, when others who did were excluded?
How many employees of the Government of Canada are Double Dipping - working with a full government paycheck, while getting government contracts for millions of Taxpayer Dollars?
Garnett Genuis…
I was amused each time the Speaker called on him for his segments.
Mr. Genuis, it’s your time.
It was like he was a superhero or pro-wrestler being summoned in for his tap-in.
His (as was Michael Barrett’s) focus was on “Accountability”, of both minister and worker, alike.
How many government employees got to keep their jobs following the insanity that prevailed through the overspending of $59 Million Taxpayer Dollars on a $60 Million Dollar Project?
And what part do the Ministers, 4 of which have been cycled through the Liberal Cabinet in this time, play?
What responsibilities and accountabilities do they actually hold?
And if none, shouldn’t they be replaced with a Potted Plant?
lol.
Now…Stephanie Kusie, came in to bring in a couple of excellent points to keep in focus.
If the failures of ArriveScam were this egregious, how many other projects where the same practices that were being used, by the same people who used them, costed Taxpayers a lot more than should have?
She brought up the Benefits Modernization program. This is an IT project meant to deal with Benefits - Pension, EI, others…that was already $3 BILLION DOLLARS, over-budget!
That’s 50x the fiasco…and $3 BILLION DOLLARS, over the closest costs that can be derived from ArriveSCAM.
The AG, said that Arrive Scam was the WORST case that she’d ever audited, but has she had a chance to dive into the $3 Billion Dollars overspent on this scam?
Like Stephanie, I’d sure like to see the audit on this…
And her Second Great Point, on the week…
While as Procurement Minister, Anita Anand’s husband got over $70 Million Dollars in contracts, for a company that he’s on the board with. Prior to this and COVID, the same company had only received a sum total of $150k in projects. Through this, Anita had FAILED to proper disclose her Conflict of Interests…in the same way that 5 other government employees were FIRED for not doing.
She had an obligation to disclose this…contracts went through…her husband was a benefactor…and Nothing has been said or done about this.
It’s akin to the WE Scandal, where a sole sourced contract, for $1 Billion Canadian Dollars, went to the WE Foundation that paid Trudeau’s family members for speaking engagements.
SCAM!
The Liberals did everything they could to derail these conversations and continuously feigned outrage by the official opposition calling the app ArriveScam…but both clear winners and losers in the end were Canadians.
Winners in that, we got a chance to see how corrupt and incompetent bureaucracy has become under the liberal government.
Losers in that we’ll probably never see justice.
While I may have missed some of the highlights here…I think that this about covers the gist of my week in Committee…
Had a great time…
Watched some Amazing Canadians scream out for justice for Canadians…
Was entertained…
And could do this all from my less than comfortable office chair, without having to brave the snow-covered streets and cold.
Let me know what you think in the comments!
If this ain’t your bag…welp, I can always move on to puzzle building or recipes instead.
:P
Great work Yak and actually I find your videos excellent and your speaking style in those is fantastic. Please keep them up.
I love reading your substacks but my attention span doesn't work with the videos. Reading keeps me focused and the horrors really sink in. Thanks for bringing them back.
