Oh dear gawd…this guy is entering into insanity, is what you may think, reading throughout this post, but by the end, I’m hopeful you’ll think differently…and that at least a few of you will be onboard for an N=1 experiment.
You see, looking at brain waves and frequency is something that I got a taste of almost 30 years ago and was intrigued at the time, but seemed to only be a ‘shiny thing’, at the time…something to take up a moment of my free brain space and focus…keep me from thinking about other stuffs and to feel edumicated.
Welp…I’m looping back around.
I’ve had some conversations in private and even through a townhall on this and have started taking a deeper dive into the appreciation of information through an altered mind state - without the use of stimulants or depressants - drugs and alcohol.
For the most part…I’ve seen ZERO benefits coming from chemically altering state of mind and while I can still imbibe or take certain dietary liberties that utilize sugars and carbohydrates to alter my mind state…I’m going to be diving into something a little deeper.

Simple dive…
Our minds operate on certain frequencies during our states of awake and rest:
Beta (β)12–35 Hz Anxiety dominant, active, external attention, relaxed;
Alpha (α)8–12 Hz Very relaxed, passive attention;
Theta (θ)4–8 Hz Deeply relaxed, inward focused;
Delta (δ)0.5–4 Hz Sleep;
In much the same ways that chemicals can alter these states of being awake, constant stimuli being introduced can help do the same.
As a way to understand this…think about being at a Rock Concert and hearing your favorite track.
You gain an adrenaline rush…your heart rate skyrockets…your mood elevates…and you feel invincible!
Take the alternate, you sit down by a campfire, watching the flickering of a flame…
You relax into the mood…everything fades away and you are comfy, cozy and relaxed.
The differences of frequencies is what allows you body to mimic what your mind is feeling…you already understand this but may or may not apply it.
Maybe you already see that rhythmic patterns have been employed to change your acceptance through advertising into gaining your acceptance…appreciating a message more through the level of your mind state while consistently applying a single directive.
Yes, this is a part of advertising.
Think of the jingles that go along with products introduced to you.
Oh, oh, oh, Ozempic…It’s magical…
I’d like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony…Coca Cola!
And see where this leads with actual information that you see presented to you, and how you react to it, now that you are a little more aware of the sensory input that is being fed to you.
There is one more thing to this though and proper understanding and utilization, that I’m going to be working with.
Binaural beats.
This is a fairly simple yet very complex idea.
And for the most part, binaural beats have been the bane of your existence and a constant frustrating pattern throughout your life.
When you hear 2 people talking at the same time…or if you are in a crowd and trying to focus on a single person, you are overstimulated and get into that ‘fight or flight’ mode.
This can be as simple as having the kitchen tap running while your spouse is trying to talk to you…you get angry or frustrated…you have to shut one down so that you can effectively absorb the other.
You see, this same sensation can be utilized to work your mind into an altered state, while not having to listen to a steady stream of frequency which would otherwise mimic Tinnitus - ringing in your ears.
It goes like this…
The difference of frequencies that you hear from your left ear to your right creates a third frequency - the Binaural Beat.
If this Binaural Beat is consistent, and set inside of one of our brainwave frequencies, it sets our mind into an altered state of awareness or understanding.
For the sake of what I’m playing with…I am using an altered state of awareness as being in a 4hz frequency which aligns with the Delta State, a period of which you would normally only achieve through REM (Rapid Eye Movement) Sleep.
Which…might seem odd.
And it should.
Because your regular awareness and ability to absorb information has been tested to be more likely in your Alpha State.
Blah blah blah….
So then why the Delta?
Good Question…
I’ve been playing around with this and have found that an awakened state while driving for the delta state has been one of the most profound impacts on my state of being and I’m wondering if this is just anecdotal or if others gain the same sense.
I am much deeper emersed into this…in that I have a binaural beat on, and have, for the last several days. I’ve played with different steady state different tones for healing and wakefulness…but have only really seen a cognitive control difference in trying to achieve Delta in an awakened state.
And it’s been pretty incredible.
I’ve tested this through speed reading and comprehension - with recall…
I’ve tested this through activity and exercise…
And through this have found the Delta Target to be my zone.
Now…different minds will have different effects so if you try it and hate it, let me know how it effects you, or if not at all.
Now…
I worked on a simple experiment with my youngest child, almost 30 years old under 2 different means.
Speed reading with tone - he said he could read faster, gain more by way of comprehension, but had a very heavy feeling in his body.
Listening to content with tone - he said it was easier to absorb and that he had better recollect, no seeming impact to his body feel.
Confirmation?
Not by a long shot…but interesting results inside of a short window of time.

I will work to set a condition on the post. A word or feeling that you can repeat throughout…be it, Warm, Strong, Relaxed…or you can set your own.

I’m in 🙋🏻♀️ Waaaaay back in the early 1990’s I bought the CD set from the Monroe Institute and used them briefly… life got in the way. I still have the CD’s and I have a CD player 😆. This is a perfect time in my life to get back into this. Thanks for the suggestion and the prompting.
