I was invited to be a speaker this weekend at a Wildrose Independence Party of Alberta meet on Saturday, April 9th, 2022 and met some truly amazing people. My inclusion in the event was somewhat last minute and though I was only able to assemble a little information, it was well received by all in attendance.
The event was hosted at the Toad and Turtle Pub in Red Deer and the house was PACKED!
No…nobody showed up specifically to see me talk.
No…most who were there had no idea who I am or had any idea about the information I was going to be presenting.

No…I am not a member of the Wildrose Independence Party of Alberta, nor was I invited there to promote the party and political leanings.
I was only invited to give a presentation on what we’ve all lived through during the last couple of years of COVID and provide a little statistical information.
A lot of what I presented was information that you can read about in my previous substacks, trying to keep to the most current but including information throughout the last 2 years. I don’t believe that anybody was necessarily shocked by the information and a lot seemed to be already aware.
They were aware that what we’ve been seeing and hearing COVID-wise doesn’t line up and they are concerned. Concerned for their friends, families and community and by the pains inflicted by our governing parties both Provincial and Federal throughout the pandemic and what they were seeing.
Rightfully so, if I might add.
Through discussions before and after my presentation, I’d heard from some, that they were still struggling through some tough conversations and the impacts of the divisive messages delivered throughout the last year of vaccinations. While some are happy to be resuming a taste of normalcy and with some of these “Pandemic of the Un-Vaccinated” conversations were beginning to fade, there is still a lot of fear that plagues their lives.
I didn’t get the sense that any of those attending were necessarily caught up on COVID fear and there wasn’t a singled mask donned throughout the entire meeting, the plague of fear was coming from others.
Others who still won’t take part or accept invite to family celebrations or community events with the unvaccinated. Others who still demand rapid testing before even wanting to be in the same room. Others who had felt comfortable being around them through COVID under the nonsensical and ambiguous CMOH gathering restrictions…but not now following vaccinations - through the weakest strain of COVID that the country has seen - Cough and Cold like symptom Variant - Omicron.
There is still a lot of work to do to help us mend the damages that have been done over the last 2 years. Those that assembled in their community yesterday seemed up for this exact task.
They wanted to be a part of the changes that they’d like to see.
I am proud to have been afforded an opportunity to have been invited into their community and through this, have not only met with some of my subscribers and other amazing people that I would not have met otherwise, but was also invited to speak at other events during the spring and summer in other communities throughout Alberta.
My personal Thank-You to the staff at the Toad and Turtle - Red Deer.
My personal Thank-You to those who organized this event.
My personal Thank-You to those who showed up and welcomed me into their community.
We’ve got a lot of work to do and I am truly thankful that this healing journey of a thousand miles has already taken it’s first steps in Red Deer.
While I am not a member of, nor do I specifically endorse any single political party, I would like to invite you to check out the Wildrose Independence Party of Alberta →Link, and meet some of their amazing team.
And if there is anything I can do to help support you in your community, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
(Oh, and I promise to bring some business cards to the following events and make sure to loop in and extend the invites to others as they present - my bad)
Wish I had been there. People who are willing to listen, think and analyze appreciate the information you provide and the effort you are putting in to provide it. Hope you were able to hoist a cold one while there.
Thanks Sheldon, great presentation and hope to reconnect in the future.
