Premier of Quebec, François Legault has come up with a way of being racist while under the hiding under the guise of ‘preservation of culture’…regarding the Century Initiative.
This is old news…welp, from May of last year, but the conversations around this have apparently completely died, before they ever got started.
What is the Century Initiative, you ask?
I broke it down with some information here:
On the plan to increase the population of Canada to 100 Million People by 2100.
We’re already under too much strain, financially and spatially speaking. It’s not that we’re running out of land…we’ve got a lot of that, a big portion of it is even more inhospitable than what we’ve all come to deal with…but in this, we’ve run out of housing, space in healthcare/hospitals, school systems collapsing because there are more students than we have space for and not enough teachers to teach the kids we have.
Yet the answer to this still seems to be, we are open arms to the world for their economic migrants.
Legault has an interesting angle…preservation of culture, to stem the flow…but this isn’t actually the message. He’s not looking for a compromise by importing more people that are fluent is French…like the rest of Canadians who are struggling, he just wants to see this all come to an END!
This is still falling on deaf ears, in house of the Liberals.
6 days ago, Immigration Minister says that they’re looking at capping intake of non-permanent residents…as in, foreign students.
This too is a bit of a situation…given that Canada has just hit over 1 Million International Students:
Where there are a total of 1.44 Million University Students in Canada, TOTAL:
GADZOOKS!
Only 31% of our Universities are Canadian Students?
What?
How does this impact student residence? Costing? Cost of Education?
And why are Canadians paying the price for this?
Throw this into the mix:
Food banks have been CRUSHED by international students…just before Christmas, during the most expensive time to live in Canada…and while this may have only been one report, you have to know how social media messages carry in this age group and how other cities may have seen their food banks flattened as well.
What are doing here?
What benefit do we actually get from this program that would allow us to not have considered this prior to it hitting 70% of our total university capacity?
This is JUST Universities.
And Food Banks…
And, check this out:
Now…I’m not fond of our current healthcare system.
No big fan of doctors…but I can still appreciate that a lot of Canadians are dependent on it and it’s the only system we have in place and most importantly, WE PAY FOR IT!
Guys…and gals…
This situation is spiraling out of control and we need to start having some conversations about it.
Legault found a way to be openly racist in his bid to reject this…
Why aren’t the premiers of any other provinces doing the same?
Premier Smith?
You got anything on this?
Finally ! 2024 feels like the year we can begin to say in the open what we’ve been quietly thinking all along. I’m no fan of the QC premier but I’m glad he’s put this on the table. Albertans should be next in demanding an end to the open flood gates sapping every resource we have by those who’ve never contributed a dime to them.
I've got alot to say on the subject, but no one wants to read a comment for hours so....I worked in the higher education system, many of Canada's smaller colleges & uni's wouldn't survive without these international students, they pay big bucks to study here - most do not speak English well enough to pass exams without taking extra study in English (they are supposed to pass an English equivalent to be admitted but that is not the case). They are admitted if they have the $$$ anyway, apparently English isn't an important pre-req. One college I worked at was 80% international students. They are well versed in our social programs in Canada, businesses exist for the sole purpose of teaching them how to get the most out of them! Most students will seek permanent residence here and then bring in their family members, 'cause they know how the systems works. Remember, Freeland loves immigration, it adds to our GDP!!
