How are the Vaccine Passports Working Out?

Almost 3 Month Update

I am working to provide some data for a couple of others, will let you know how these projects progress - there are some really amazing people doing some really amazing work right now - and as a part of this, I was asked to look for an update on the Vaccine Passports, to kind of get an idea where we are at with all of this - Alberta Vaccine Passports were initiated on September 20th, 2021.

If the Alberta Provincial Government is looking at some ‘modest relaxation measures’ for Christmas, things must be going pretty good, right?

So, let’s check it out.

At a glance:

Hospitalizations and ICU is down, dramatically!

Active Cases are down to about 20% of the September numbers.

1.2 Million More Doses of Vaccines, bringing 12+ population from 72.3% fully vaccinated to 84.7%.

This is pretty decent, actually.

In all fairness, it seems like some of this may be having an effect, right?

Well…let’s have a deeper dive:

From September 20th, there were 355 COVID deaths over the previous 120 days and at current, there are 943 over this same period. Somehow, an additional 588 ICU Cases or an increase of 166%.

That’s right.

Following 90 days of vaccine passports, a snapshot of a 4 month period showed a 60+% increase in COVID Mortality.

What has also changed in this time period is that the Average Age of Death dropped by 1 year.

Tracking this from when COVID first started taking the lives of Albertan’s, this number has dropped from 82 years. What is significant about this is that throughout all of the Alberta reporting from May 15th, 2020 (first provincial reporting period) through January 2021 the Average Age of Death was 82 years and that over the last year of lock-downs, vaccines and passports, this number has dropped by 4 years.

A decline in Average Age of 4 years over the span of a single year is NOT a good sign. It’s not that the elderly aren’t dying anymore - they actually still are, it is because these measures have significantly impacted lower age stratification specific to COVID. The Risk to Younger people has INCREASED with all measures taken for the last year.

Check out the rate of increase over the last 3 months in relation to the first 18 months.

There was a almost 30% increase in Mortality on a 20% increase on case count.

For the Highest Risk Age Group 80+, there was a moderate decline by 1% over case rate, while still making up 37% of the total deaths over this period, while 40-49 increased by 53%, 50-59 increased by 62% and most shockingly deaths in the 30-39 age group DOUBLED!

This is the information that the Provincial Government and CMOH - Dr. Deena Hinshaw and Verna Yiu is President/CEO at Alberta Health Services Board are looking at and thinking, this seems like a good time for them to look at a ‘modest relaxation measures’.

IF something you were doing caused a mortality rate of 18 months to actually double in one of the Lowest Risk Age Groups, in less than 3 months and drop the average age of death by a full year, maybe it’s not time to relax these measures, maybe it’s time to throw them out fucking window, set fire to the plan and resign from your position.

Just saying…

While we have improved on hospitalizations and ICU metrics as well as case rate, there are more alarming things going on than these people aren’t willing to talk about.

727 Albertan’s aren’t around to tell you that these measures don’t save people from COVID but I think we all had a strong sense that QR codes don’t stop viruses, right?
