Here Is Why Nobody Gives a Fuck About COVID-OMICRON!

Do you have any idea how many strains and variants of COVID there are globally?

I asked a friend about this the other day, using a lot more gentler terms and actually invited a conversation, where this post may admittedly come out a little hostile…

For almost 2 years we’ve been under threat of COVID-19.

There has been a lot of deaths from COVID and certainly a lot of people whose lifespan was shortened because of pre-existing conditions - Comorbidities. Nobody denies that COVID is a real virus (almost).

We all get that there is a new bug.

This kinda shit happens all the time and nobody even talks about some weird bug they got and couldn’t walk past the bathroom without stopping by.

So when my friend answered my question I was a little taken aback.

“There are like fifteen hundred strains of COVID that we’ve all survived”, was his answer.

“Fifteen Hundred”, I questioned.

“Well, maybe not 1,500 but there’s a lot.

I wasn’t questioning him on the enormity of his number, I was by the lack of information that I realize that not everybody pays attention to.

Out of curiosity, I figured I’d tap a few others on the shoulder to see what number they figured was about right.

Fifteen.

That’s the low side and fifteen hundred the high.

Like the weirdest game of “Price is Right” that I could even imagine.

The answer…welp, GISAID the agency that actually studies COVID strains and variants specific has had:

There’s a lot more out there than I think people can conceptualize, which is why people are sleeping under their beds, windows and doors dead-bolted, wet towels around the seals by just mentioning the a new variant - OMICRON!

Where’s Waldo?

It took 2 days for OMICRON to be discovered as the single “end of the world” variant before being discovered across the friggen globe.

Viruses are going to Virus.

They Mutate as a part of their survival, like every other species on the planet.

And we literally have no idea how long this has been with us; we just know that after almost 2 years of living through this bullshit, where the survival rate is 99.9x% among the general population…
