So…a couple of new friends sponsored a ticket for me to go and check out Fire and Ice with Theo Fleury and Jamie Salé last night.
Pretty neat deal.
Guest speaker last night was Tom Marazzo and in the audience was Freedom Convoy Organizer - Tamara Lich and Freedom Convoy Lawyer - Keith Wilson, running introduction Joseph Bourgault - President of the Canadians for Truth.
Had a chance to chat with all except Tamara and Keith…
Even got a chance to grab a pic with Theo…
And of course, one with Jamie too…
All in all, it was quite the event…a lot of great conversations had in the lobby before and after their interview with Tom…a lot more conversations to follow.
Tom was on one of the first main chats on my YakkStack Zoom…came in to talk about the responsibilities of voters and had some great words to share.
“If you aren’t happy with what is happening in your community, you need to reflect this in your votes”.
“Ask questions and raise concerns of those running to represent you in your community”…
And his final big delivery was…“Things have gotten so bad that even I threw my hat into the arena”.
Which was much the same message that MLA Shane Getson delivered when he took some time out to chat with us last month, we can’t sit back and expect things to get better…we need to be a part of the change that we would like to see.
For the Fire and Ice event, Tom covered his time with the Canadian Forces, Ottawa with the Freedom Convoy and the experiences he’d had, spoke about the EMA Inquiry and covered off on how nobody has been terribly comfortable going outside of their normal lives…but that we’ve all faced challenges over the last few years where feeling nauseous, though wasn’t welcome, would be completely expected, and more importantly, overcome.
There was a big highlight when Tom was speaking…and this was to the family that he’d always felt he had that had become strangers to him and a lot of the folks he’d never known became his new family throughout the pandemic.
“We’ve all been affected by measures that were taken”…
And, this is the one thing that I really do try to reiterate with our community. We’ve come together throughout some pretty trying times and have been able to keep our heads and wits about us and form unity where divisive lunacy is the only dish offered up on the Government Menu.
We can all jest about being called racists and misogynists…
Laugh about being unvaccinated while being blamed for the failures off the vaccines…
But when we wipe back the tears following our open mouthed guffaws…the one thing that remains is the communities that we now find ourselves in.
Friends that we know and can trust.
And this is big thing.
I’d like to thank you all for helping me through this…really, without you, there’d be no Townhalls…No discussions…No conversations in the comments section…I’d be comfortable at home instead of awkwardly engaging in community events and public engagements…There’d be no YakkStack.
And welp…we’ve done some pretty impressive things together, if not the one biggest thing, in continuing to build unity in our community…while the rest of the world has lost their minds around us and abandoned people blood related family replacing them legacy media personalities.
Jamie and Theo did an amazing job and where they could be left well enough alone in their silence, feel the need to continue to unite others of like mind because sitting back is no longer an option for them.
Tom, a great speaker, was nice to see and hear from again to help reiterate some important points that we could all use a refresher course on from time to time.
If you aren’t already familiar with their efforts and upcoming events, you can check them out →Canadians For Truth. Next event will be on March 23, 2023 - guest speaker Brian Denison.
Ticket prices are reasonable and included a light meal - fresh sandwiches made by the Italian Bakery - and refreshments, coffee, water and some sodas.
Best value for Dinner and a Show that you’ll find in Calgary…
And, if you hang out, you can get a photo op with Jamie and Theo too!
Great article Sheldon. Well done Brother!
Thanks for this update and for all you’ve done and continue to do.
Your report (especially the quotes from Tom) made me think of this Plato quote: “The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.” Plato
Best wishes.
