Pretty much sums it up !!! I fortunately, have struggled all my life as a single patent (deadbeat dad) never could afford to buy a house,go in debt or have lots of material things (debts) ..now, I am one of the fortunate ones. I do not have to adjust or down size or sell. I can continue on as I always have,, dr and pharm free, no debts, surviving , still struggle but not like two hungry little mouths.....nobody is happy about any thing. Govts have succeeded in depressing the masses BUT the masses need to shake it off. Get up ,stand proud and get on with it. Dont let them take anymore from us. Speak up

Sadly Bonnie...the people who are speaking up are saying, "everything is fine"...

I feel for you, but am almost ashamed that we live on a farm and stay away from the 💩

Found out yesterday that my 52 year old cousin had a heart attack & stroke. Now she is in palliative care.

Found out today that the older sister of my son’s childhood friend was found unresponsive yesterday. Heart attack. She was in her early 30’s.

Everything is so not fine. 🥺

Same here. With rampant cancers, sudden deaths, clots and heart attacks. All normal, all the time. Trauma. Stockholm syndrome.

Canada is a full on dumpster fire and small gatekeepers are getting braver with their meagre powers and for today I feel utterly hopeless about it and about my and my family’s future- these types of days happen more routinely. I just dig deeper to rally myself out of it- mostly with determination to outlast these bastards and pure righteous indignation of my soul. Yet everything is fine.

**Perhaps this societal tension will need a release valve, I wonder what that will look like, and when?? (Canadians are patient, and then one day they just aren’t.)

Excellent poem. Here in Bedlam-By-The-Bay the trip lights and sonic subliminal vibration deterrent installed on demand to credit worthy households are coupled to multiple web camera angles creating a digit profile shared with the DA in real time. Data sharing is important as this offers the DA a ground for plea deal and sentence reduction enabling a rapid return to the street to save taxpayers incarceration expenses.

Yes everything is not fine and that's why WE THE PEOPLE have to stand up Together and fight for what is ours .

Yes! I am wondering what that looks like???

Interestingly....I remain "fine" in and of myself given the circumstances of my Country and the world at large. I do wonder about the outcome; where will it end or turn or erupt? I see the apathy in people like me, wondering about the next move by them or by our governments, the wasteful spending of our local governments on bike lanes instead of proper, well thought out D&A programs. I'm sure poeple wonder about me sometimes; my actions and lifestyle as I juggle a "thirty something" with nowhere to live (well I solved that problem, just due to a fortunate family situation), an elderly mother who is in a care home in the town 45 minutes away from me-who btw I could not see for the first year due to you know what, and a roof in my den that is literally falling in on my head after a brand new roof job 2 years ago! It sickens me that the food at foodbanks is such low quality now and that so many people MUST use them. My friends joke that it is likely cheaper to feed a family of 4/5 from McDonnald's. There are days I go out and look around, and it truly looks and feels dystopian; and this makes me incredibly sad. I will continue the fight for a brighter future again, I will do what I can do! I say this bravely as I curse and swear due to turning my Ford Escape into a nicley designed bike lane!! Bastards........

You forgot the part about the slumped over people everywhere on the streets, broad daylight.

But everything is fine.

Love this write up.

I enjoy your writing style Sheldon. You hit the nail on the head -- for a lot of us. What a sad time we're in.

There's just a few caucus' in this dumpster fire of a nation that could use this copy and paste spammed to their inbox daily.

Just as thought.

Dare me, and consider it done. If Sheldon were to allow of course.

People have to realize they need to stay away from Gov't 💸. Once the Gov't has you they will drown you. Maybe people need to look at communal living like the old days. The division between classes has become an ocean for the middle class. Rich will aways be there. Poor are also there. It's the working middle class that are getting screwed. Yes the Scamdemic screwed a lot of people who could see progress

Now those same people are having a hard time getting by. Society has to change in a way that will improve people's way of life. Food banks and welfare are good but not a lifestyle. The Gov't has to be forced to stopp internal and international spending. Maybe the people of Canada should ask Biden for a Billion for starters for an emerging 3rd world country.

Thanks Sheldon great compilations of thoughts.

And what we have is our beloved leader in Ottawa going around doing photo opts and bragging how much his government is helping middle class families and trying to shut down Alberta's energy industry

I and others have figured out that the ‘grocery rebate’ is simply a padded GST refund. Such bullcrap. Every ounce of this is by design to try to take out the most nimble province economically.
