This is so powerful.

I do remember too.

And I will NOT rest.

I remember my husband and I got sick with an awful flu. He got COVID toes. I asked about getting a test but they weren't testing you unless you had been exposed to someone from Wuhan. We had only been exposed to someone from China who arrived sick and had been visiting with relatives from Wuhan before coming to Canada. My husband had a stroke and he was released the Friday before the lock downs started. The doctors laughed at me when I said I thought the stroke was related to the illness. COVID is a lung disease not a neurological disease they said. being a retired health care researcher I brought up the literature I was seeing but they ignored me. We had no occupational therapy, physio therapy and we couldn't even speak to our doctor on the phone for a month because it took that long for them to authorize telemedicine and I couldn't manage getting my husband to town by myself because he wasn't strong enough with the walker to go that far by himself and I was not allowed to go in with him. If not for family who understood post stroke therapy needs and my retired nurse neighbour I have no idea how we would have managed his recovery.

I remember going in for a routine blood test. They were practically hosing down the chairs in the waiting room with heavily scented disinfectant. I am allergic to scents and between the masks and the scent I felt like I was dying. I very politely asked the woman hosing down chairs to please wait until I was gone to hose down the chair. She lost it and sprayed my right in the face while screaming at me. For once the stupid mask was actually good for something.

I walked into Walmart and they had hand sanitizer on a pole in the door. I was trying to figure out how to work the stupid thing not noticing the foot pedal. The woman at the door screamed at me calling me an idiot for not knowing about the foot pedal. I got yelled at by other customers for not following the arrows on the floor.
