Over this last week, the HoC debated the online censorship bill, C-11…
Libs shut down the debate and worked with their coalition partner to push a vote…and guess how that turned out?
Yep:
Quebec looks at it as a way to “preserve and promote”, their French speaking language…not really giving much of a shit of what else this will do, accepting of the fact that it will censor content…
Libs and NDP look at it as a way to censor your online content…specifically.
But what content?
I want you to think back to the Freedom Convoy…and think of all of the online content streaming, like the above.
I want you to remember how this content worked to build momentum…build hope…build an actual convoy.
I want you to remember how Canadians inspired other countries to rise against the tyrannies they were seeing.
I only really got a sense of what this meant when I dropped the above video into LinkedIn…when I was still allowed on the platform and it was one of the first posts that I had that went viral, closing in over a quarter of a million views, over 6,000 reactions.
This was massive…not only for me…for every one of the 900 people that commented for every one of the 6,364 people that reacted and for all that viewed.
You see…there are a lot fewer of us sharing written content and even in this, we have to break out some of these same videos to help momentum…if not just use this streamed content for information.
Now…I want you to think back about the first time you’d ever heard the name, Christine Anderson:
And realize that social media, inspiring a nation and embarrassing our dipstick Prime Minister is the reason that they don’t want this content shared online anymore.
Think about all of the videos and podcasts that you’ve seen and shared that have helped keep you in the know and inform others.
Now, check this out:
A 10 minute video showing where Chris was trying to inform officers of him being personally assaulted, at a rally…and the responding officers did nothing.
They watched as the offenders walked away and gleefully smirked about the incident.
Because of the absolute scorching that the Vancouver Police Department took online, awareness raised through social media…they had to respond:
Launching an investigation into this incident…
It makes no difference what you think of Chris, what you think about the trans-right rally…when a crime is committed, we must have an expectation that peace will be preserved and that offenders will be prosecuted.
This investigation wasn’t driven because there was a physical assault…it was driven because VPD was shamed into having to respond.
Now…I want you to think about all of the video content above…have a full appreciation of what it means and what impact it’s had…
And now realize that C-11 is the beginning of the end of all of this.
Maybe you’d be able to find some of this if you dug deep enough…but make no mistake, this is the content they want removed, hidden or made inaccessible.
Think about how the world would look right now, had Bill C-11 been in place in 2020.
Hard to imagine, isn’t it?
There’d have been no rallies…
No Freedom Convoy…
No pushback against masks and mandates, closed schools and parks…
We’d still be clad in facial diapers following arrows on the floor of grocery stores, talking to cashiers behind plexi…pulling our mobile devices out to prove that we were up-to-date on our immunizations to sit in the food courts at shopping malls.
We’re at a very bad place right now, in Canada.
Last night…I’d talked a little journey I’d be taking, inspired by my grandfather…
And want you to realize that I’m not actually going anyplace…it’s just a path that I’ll be taking.
Full on, Scorched Earth.
My rage at the dying of the light…
Because if I don’t do this now…I may not be afforded a voice to do it in the future.
We may be witnessing the beginning of the end here, my friends…
And I’m not going out quietly!
Indeed, Yakk!
Let's not forget Churchill's (1874-1965) own words, here: "Never give in. Never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except in convictions of honor or good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to apparently overwhelming might of the enemy."
Luc
Bang on as usual Sheldon. But at the end, did you mean to say that you’re NOT going out quietly??🤷🏻♂️
